A new partnership between Sentinel Water Solutions and the Perkasie Regional Authority is bringing cleaner water to local residents months ahead of schedule.
Sentinel, known for its advanced PFAS treatment and carbon reactivation technologies, has delivered a fully integrated, ready-to-operate Mobicon GAC system to the Authority – a move designed to fast-track compliance and safeguard community health.
Pre-loaded system cuts startup time
Instead of waiting for permanent infrastructure to be completed, Perkasie will use Sentinel’s temporary rental system to begin treating well water immediately.
The four DESOTEC Mobicon vessels – each packed with roughly 10,000 pounds of NSF-certified granular activated carbon – were shipped pre-loaded to the site.
This approach avoided the typical on-site loading process, reducing noise, truck traffic, and construction impact on nearby neighbourhoods.
Andrew Strassner, President of Sentinel Water Solutions, commented: “Perkasie’s decision to move forward with a temporary system concurrent with construction of their permanent facility demonstrates their commitment to providing high-quality service.
“Sentinel applauds their proactive approach to delivering safe water to customers.”
Seamless integration with existing operations
To ensure steady and reliable water flow, Sentinel also provided a pressure-reducing valve and an automated booster pump skid.
Both components were engineered to integrate smoothly with Perkasie’s current distribution system, maintaining optimal water pressure while the permanent treatment facility takes shape.
Collaboration for long-term sustainability
DESOTEC, a partner in the project, not only supplied the Mobicon vessels but will also deliver winterisation upgrades and handle future carbon reactivation – ensuring the system remains efficient and sustainable through seasonal shifts.
Delivering scalable, rapid solutions
The Perkasie installation underscores Sentinel’s mission to help small and mid-sized utilities adapt to tightening PFAS regulations.
By offering modular systems for rent or purchase, along with reactivation and pilot testing services, Sentinel continues to make advanced water treatment more accessible, adaptable, and responsive to communities’ evolving needs.
